Working Principle of Aluminum Heat-Shrink Packaging Equipment | Constant-Temperature Shrink Wrapping for Aluminum Profiles
Time: 2026-06-23
The aluminum heat‑shrink packaging machine is a specialized, widely used device for bundling aluminum profiles and finished aluminum products, ideally suited to small‑to‑medium batch production and multi‑specification profile packaging. Unlike fully automatic film‑wrapping systems, this model relies on manual bagging assistance and machine‑controlled constant‑temperature heat shrinking as its core operating principle. Leveraging the physical deformation properties of heat‑shrink film, it delivers tight, dust‑proof packaging for aluminum materials, making it extensively employed for factory‑level protective packaging of window and door profiles, industrial aluminum extrusions, and decorative aluminum profiles. This article provides a detailed analysis of its fundamental working principles and complete operational workflow.
The device's Core Working Principle : Leveraging the thermal expansion and contraction properties of heat‑shrink films specially formulated for aluminum profiles—made from PE, PVC, and POF—the film remains relaxed and taut at room temperature. Upon exposure to a steady stream of high‑temperature hot air, its molecular structure rapidly contracts and tightly conforms to the outer contour of the aluminum profile. Following natural cooling and stabilization, it forms a close‑fitting, smooth, and resilient protective layer that delivers dust‑proof, scratch‑resistant, moisture‑proof, and oxidation‑preventive packaging performance.
The equipment’s overall operating process is divided into three core steps: manual bagging, constant-temperature heat shrinking, and cooling and shaping, offering simple operation and high stability.
First comes the manual bagging process, in which operators select heat-shrink bags of the appropriate size based on the aluminum profile’s dimensions and manually slip them over the entire length of the aluminum extrusion. This ensures the bags remain smooth, free of wrinkles and misalignment, and can accommodate aluminum products with varying lengths and non‑standard cross‑sections, offering greater flexibility.
Next comes the equipment’s heat‑shrink forming process, in which the bagged aluminum profiles are conveyed at a steady speed into the heat‑shrink oven chamber. The system employs a hot‑air circulation loop to maintain uniform, constant temperatures throughout the furnace, precisely matching the shrink‑temperature range of the aluminum packaging film. This ensures comprehensive heating and softening of the film, enabling it to contract evenly and conform tightly to the profile surface, thereby completely eliminating issues such as slackness, bulging, and uneven local shrinkage, and meeting the packaging requirements of various aluminum surface finishes.
Finally, the cooling and shaping process takes place: after heat shrinking, the aluminum profile is removed from the furnace chamber and allowed to cool naturally at room temperature. The shrink film rapidly solidifies and sets, conforming tightly to the aluminum’s contours. This results in a smooth, taut surface with crisp, well-defined lines, effectively shielding the material from dust, moisture, and external abrasion, thereby preserving the integrity of the coated and anodized surfaces and ensuring the aluminum’s superior appearance upon leaving the factory.
